- Icebergs are pieces of ice that form on land and float in an ocean or lake, but typically it refers to chunks of ice larger than 16 feet across.
- Only 10% of an iceberg is visible above the water's surface and are about 10,000 years old.
- The largest iceberg on record was 13 km long, 6 km wide, and was about 20 km above water. It weighed over 9 billion tons (1 ton = 1,000 kilograms).
